Hardware lock-in kills adoption
Most hotline systems lock you into proprietary hardware. Desk phone breaks? You're offline. Out on a delivery? Out of the loop. Hotline HQ runs on whatever device you've got. Your phone IS the hotline.
How It Works
- Desk phone (zero-touch). Preconfigured Yealink phones ship directly to members. Plug in the ethernet cable and it auto-connects. No setup, no IT department.
- Mobile web app. Open the browser on any smartphone, log in, and you're on. Push-to-talk bar at the bottom. Hold to broadcast, release to mute.
- Desktop browser. Works on Chrome, Edge, Firefox on any laptop or desktop. Spacebar push-to-talk for hands-free operation. Ctrl+L to toggle mute.
- Smooth switching. Start the morning on the desk phone, switch to mobile for an afternoon delivery run. The network follows you.
Key Benefits
- No app store dependency. The web app is a PWA, installable on the home screen but doesn't need the App Store or Google Play. Works straight from the browser.
- Push-to-talk on mobile. A full-width PTT bar at the bottom of the mobile screen. Hold to talk, release to mute, just like a walkie-talkie.
- Keyboard shortcuts on desktop. Spacebar for push-to-talk, Ctrl+L to toggle mute. Power users never touch the mouse.
- Screen wake lock. The app keeps your screen on while you're connected. No missed broadcasts because your phone went to sleep.
Real-world: from counter to delivery truck
A yard rep starts the day at the counter with the Yealink desk phone, hearing and responding to broadcasts. At noon, they hop in the delivery truck, open Hotline HQ on their iPhone, and stay connected. A broadcast comes in for a part on the truck. They hold the PTT bar and respond. The deal closes before they reach the delivery address.
