Members can't be at the phone 24/7
Even on an always-on network, members step away: lunch, deliveries, customers at the counter. Without notifications, missed broadcasts turn into lost revenue. Notifications close that gap between the hotline and the member's pocket.
How It Works
- Web push notifications. When a broadcast goes unanswered in a member's room, they get a push notification on their phone, even if the browser is closed. Tap to open the dashboard.
- Telegram integration. Broadcasts get forwarded to Telegram channels with full details: speaker name, room, duration, transcription, and part details. Configurable per room.
- Direct call alerts. When someone dials a member's extension and they don't pick up, a push notification shows the caller's name. One tap to call back.
- Lock screen controls. On mobile, media controls in the notification shade let members mute and unmute without opening the app.
Key Benefits
- Works even when closed. Web push notifications come from the browser's service worker. The Hotline HQ tab doesn't need to be open.
- Configurable per room. Operators choose which rooms trigger notifications, filter by answered/unanswered, and skip broadcasts with no detected parts.
- Critical member alerts. Flag important members as "critical". If they go offline, the system sends Telegram alerts every 60 seconds until they reconnect.
- iOS support via PWA. On iPhone, members add Hotline HQ to their home screen to get push notifications. The app walks them through it.
Real-world: catching a request during lunch
A yard rep steps out for lunch. While they're eating, someone broadcasts for a part they have stacked in the back. They get a push notification: "CA Room — Looking for 2017 Accord hood." They tap the notification, open the dashboard, hold the PTT bar, and respond: "Got it, black, $120." The deal closes from the restaurant parking lot.
